Tech Women's Track Competes at Cyclone National Qualifier

ATLANTA — The Georgia Tech women’s track team recorded a pair of top-10 finishes on the first day of competition at the Cyclone National Track and Field Qualifier meet being hosted by Iowa State in Ames, Iowa.

In one of the day’s opening events, senior Becky Megesi finished 17th in the 800 meters with her time of 2:17.25.

Later in the day in the distance event competition, both freshman Renee Metivier and sophomore Amy Dock had strong showings by placing in the top 10 of their respective events. Metivier was the first of the pair to run, as she placed fourth in the 3000 meters with a time of 9:56.96. Dock followed in the 5000 meters, as she finished sixth in a time of 16:37.08.

The Cyclone National Track and Field Qualifier will conclude on March 3, with the final day of competition.
