THE FLATS – Georgia Tech track and field continues the outdoor season by competing at two away meets on Friday, April 7. Tech will send a group to Georgia’s Spec Towns Invite and Lee University’s Flames Invite.
Last time out, the Jackets competed at the Florida Relays. Highlights from the meet included a PR from Sheleah Harris in the women’s 100m, second-place mark in the men’s discus by Jamir Gibson and Nick Nyman’s fourth-place finish in the men’s 1500m.
Tech’s group that is set to travel at Georgia will consist of a variety of athletes. In the track events, some of the Jackets competing will be Parker Buchheit in the men’s 800m, 4x400m relay and Lydia Troupe in the women’s 400m hurdles. Shanty Papakosta and John Watkins are two standouts for Tech that will be participating in their respective field events.
At the Flames Invite, a squad of distance runners will compete in the 5,000 meters and 10,000 meters. The group features several of Tech’s top performers including Helena Lindsay, Liz Galarza, James Cragin and John Higinbotham.
