Tech Set for Commodore Challenge

THE FLATS – Georgia Tech Track and Field continue their regular season schedule in Nashville, Tenn. on Friday, Jan. 14 at the Commodore Challenge. This meet runs two days.

The White and Gold are coming off the Clemson Orange & Purple Elite where two Tech athletes won ACC weekly honors. Cameron O’Neal was named ACC Men’s Co-Field Performer of the Week and Sheleah Harris won ACC Women’s Track Performer of the Week.

The Jackets are sending 24 men and 25 women to the meet. Key events to watch are O’Neal in the long jump, Shanty Papakosta and Carla Du Plesis in the high jump, Olivia Moore in the pole vault, Taylor Grimes in the 60 hurdles and long jump, Jameson Miller in the 400m and McKinley Thompson in the high jump.

Following this meet, Tech is back in action Friday, Jan. 21 for the Carolina Challenge. The meet is two days and will be hosted by South Carolina.

The Alexander-Tharpe Fund is the fundraising arm of Georgia Tech athletics, providing scholarship, operations and facilities support for Georgia Tech’s 400-plus student-athletes.
