Tech Season Opener to Kick Off at 6 p.m.

June 2, 2002

Georgia Tech’s season opening football game against Vanderbilt will have a 6 p.m. kickoff on Saturday, Aug. 31 at Bobby Dodd Stadium/Grant Field.

The game will not be televised.

The game will mark the debut of new head coaches for both teams as Chan Gailey coaches his first game for the Yellow Jackets and Bobby Johnson patrols the Commondores’ sideline for the first time.

Tech’s historic facility, Bobby Dodd Stadium/Grant Field, is in the midst of a two-year expansion project and will seat approximately 42,000 for the 2002 campaign. The project will be completed following the 2002 season and in 2003, stadium capacity will reach 55,000.

The remainder of Tech’s kickoff times for the 2002 season are to be announced.
