ATLANTA – The Georgia Tech women’s basketball team (4-0) will make its second road trip of the season to face Iowa (4-1) on Wednesday, Nov. 28 in the inaugural Big Ten/ACC Challenge. Tip-off is scheduled for 9:05 p.m. ET at Carver-Hawkeye Arena in Iowa City, Iowa.
The game will be televised live on the Big Ten Network (HD). Steve Schlanger and Brenda VanLengen will call the action. Tech fans can also listen to Richard Musterer and LaChina Robinson call the game on WREK radio (91.1 FM/www.wrek.org), Georgia Tech women’s basketball’s flagship station.
Tech will try and stay unbeaten as it faces the Hawkeyes for the first time in its history. The Yellow Jackets are 5-3 all-time against Big Ten opponents, including a 55-46 win over Northwestern last Wednesday, Nov. 21.
The Jackets are led by seniors Chioma Nnamaka, who is averaging 19 points a game, and Janie Mitchell, who is registering 14 points and and 8.5 rebounds a game. With a win, Tech would improve to 5-0 for the third time in five seasons under head coach MaChelle Joseph.
Georgia Tech will travel to Athens, Ga. on Sunday, Dec. 2 for a showdown with in-state rival and No. 7 ranked Georgia. The game is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. and will be televised by CSS.
