Tech Hosts Temple on Sunday

Nov. 17, 2007

Game Notes

ATLANTA – The Georgia Tech women’s basketball team will unveil its 2007 NCAA Tournament banner prior to tipping-off against Temple University (1-1) at Alexander Memorial Coliseum on Sunday. The game is scheduled for 2 p.m., as Tech looks to avenge last season’s loss to the Owls.

Fans can follow all the action on WREK radio (91.1 FM in Atlanta/www.wrek.org). The game will also be available for viewing on ACCSelect and live stats will be provided by Gametracker.

The Yellow Jackets (2-0) are 1-2 all-time against Temple but have never faced the Owls on the Flats. Tech dropped a 76-62 decision to the Owls last season in Philadelphia.

Tech Head Coach MaChelle Joseph and Temple coach Dawn Staley are very familiar with each other. The two were named Kodak All-Americans in 1992 and played on two national teams together.

The Jackets are coming off a 66-61 road win over Tulane last Tuesday. Senior Chioma Nnamaka led all scorers with 28 points and senior Janie Mitchell recorded her 13th double-double of her career, finishing with 21 points and 12 boards.

Tech will continue its two-game homestand next Wednesday, Nov. 21 when they face Northwestern of the Big Ten at 7 p.m.
