Tech Falls to No. 7 Virginia

THE FLATS – The Georgia Tech men’s tennis team (13-13, 4-8 ACC) concluded regular season competition today with a 6-1 loss at No. 7 Virginia (21-4, 12-0 ACC).

Virginia earned an early advantage after going 2-0 in doubles play. Tech’s Andres Martin and Keshav Chopra led Virginia’s Inaki Montes and William Woodall 5-3 before the match went unfinished.

Tech’s lone victory in singles play came from No. 79 Chopra. The junior earned another upset and his sixth win against a nationally-ranked opponent after defeating Virginia’s No. 37 Schulenburg in 7-6 [7-4], 6-2 decision. Chopra has now improved to 18-7 in dual match competition and is currently on a four-match winning streak.
