THE FLATS – The Georgia Tech track and field team finished day one of competition at the Bob Pollock Invite on Friday, Jan. 27 in Clemson, S.C.
The distance medley relay teams had the best finishes of all Tech athletes that competed today. The women group, comprised of Riley Perlakowski, Ilene Soleyn, Kayla Rose and Helena Lindsay placed second with a time of 11:34.03. Joshua Williams, Parker Buchheit, Jeremiah LaDuca and Nick Nyman ran a second-place time of 9:50.80.
In the women’s long jump, Mikayla Williams finished fourth with a personal-best mark of 5.98m (19-7.5) and Taylor Grimes recorded a seventh-place mark of 5.83m (19-1.5). On the men’s side, Cameron O’Neal finished eighth with a mark of 7.22m (23-8.25).
In the 400m, Jameson Miller came in 12th place (47.77) for the men and Lydia Troupe finished 14th (57.30) for the women.
Jamir Gibson threw a distance of 19.50 meters (63-11.75) to finish sixth in the men’s weight throw.
