Tech Divers Ready for the NCAA Zone B Championships

THE FLATS – The final step to qualify for the 2017 NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships for divers takes place this week, March 6-8, at the NCAA Zone B Championships held at the James E. Martin Aquatics Center at Auburn University.

The three-day meet showcases the top divers from around the southeast as they try to earn one of the coveted spots in the NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships.

Matt Casillas , Omar Eteiba, Nolan Mallet, Carly Doi and Madison Young all qualified for the Zone Championships and will be competing this week.

For the men, the top four finishers on all three boards – 1-meter, 3-meter and platform – are automatic qualifiers, while for the women it is the top five finishers. The remaining spots will be filled by at-large finishers.

Other schools with divers competing include: Alabama, Auburn, Clemson, Duke, East Carolina, Florida, Florida Atlantic, Florida Gulf Coast, Florida International, Florida State, Georgia, Miami, North Carolina, UNC Wilmington, NC State, South Carolina and Tennessee.

Monday, March 6
11am-1pm CT – Men’s 1-meter prelims
1:15-2:15pm – Men’s 1-meter finals
3:15-6pm – Women’s 3-meter prelims
6:15-7:15pm – Women’s 3-meter finals

Tuesday, March 7
11am-1:45pm CT – Women’s 1-meter prelims
2-3pm – Women’s 1-meter finals
4-6pm – Men’s 3-meter prelims
6:15-7:15pm – Men’s 3-meter finals


Wednesday, March 8

10-11:45am – Women’s platform prelims
Noon-12:34pm – Women’s platform finals
2:15-4pm – Men’s platform prelims
4:15-5:15pm – Men’s platform finals
