>> Playing its final non-conference game of the regular-season, Georgia Tech heads to Mercer Tuesday night to battle the Bears and looking to sweep the two-game season series.
>> The Yellow Jackets are 20-5 in non-conference games this season, and have won eight consecutive non-ACC games. Last year, Tech went 17-9 in non-league regular-season games.
>> Following Mercer, the Jackets host Miami in the regular-season finale, attempting to lock up one of the two remaining spots in the ACC Tournament. The Yellow Jackets have qualified for every ACC Tournament since joining the league 33 years ago.
>> Tech is 31-21 overall, having reached the 30-win mark for the 30th consecutive season. But the Jackets will post their first sub-.500 record in ACC play since 1985 (6-8). Yet, 1985 was Tech’s first of five ACC Tournament championships.
>> Sophomore reliever Alex Cruz entered the week ranked third the country in fewest hits allowed per nine innings (5.16). The righty is second in the ACC in overall ERA (1.67). Cruz (7-2) has been credited with seven of Tech’s last 14 wins.
>> Sophomore C/RHP Zane Evans homered twice at Virginia this past weekend, including a game-winning solo blast with two outs in the 10th inning of Sunday’s 5-4 comeback win. Evans, on the watch list for the Two-Way Player of the Year Award, then recorded a two-out save to seal the win.
