ATLANTA – Georgia Tech swimming and diving head coach Seth Baron released the Yellow Jacket schedule for the upcoming 2003-04 season. Tech will host seven dual match events and a Last Chance Meet in the newly renovated Georgia Tech Aquatic Center, home of the 1996 Summer Olympics.
“This is going to be a great season,” said Baron. “What a wonderful line-up of home competitions for the newly-renovated Georgia Tech Aquatic Center.
“This is a great opportunity for the swimming fans of Georgia Tech and the overall swimming community in Atlanta, to see some great competitions.”
The Yellow Jackets will open up the home season against NC State (10/25), then host Purdue/Florida Atlantic (11/14-15), Georgia (11/21), Florida State (1/17), Kentucky (1/30), Emory (1/31) and Men’s NCAA Last Chance Meet (3/6).
Tech will hit the road for Atlantic Coast Conference matches against Virginia (11/7), Maryland (11/8) and Clemson (1/24). The Jackets will also face non-conference foes Alabama (1/10) and head to the UGA Invitational (12/5-7). The men’s and women’s ACC Championships will be from Feb. 18-21, 2004 (women) and Feb. 25-28, 2004 (men), in Charlottesville, Va. The Women’s Last Chance Meet will be in Athens, Ga. on Feb. 28, 2004.
The NCAA Zone Diving Championships will be held March 12-14, 2004 in Athens, Ga. The Women’s NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships will be held in College Station, Texas from March 18-20. The Men’s NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships will be held in Long Island, N.Y. from March 25-27.
