THE FLATS – The 2021-22 Swim and Dive Meet schedule was announced Tuesday. The season starts with the White vs. Gold Intrasquad meet and features the Yellow Jacket Invite on Feb. 11-12. The McAuley Aquatic Center will host the ACC Championships (February 15-19) and the NCAA Championships for Zone Diving (Mar. 4-5), Women’s Swimming (Mar. 16-19), and Men’s Swimming (Mar. 23-26).
“We are very excited to be hosting many top-ranked collegiate teams at the McAuley Aquatic Center this season, as well as the ACC and NCAA Championships,” Toni M. And Richard L. Bergmark Swimming and Diving Head Coach Courtney Shealy Hart said. “Our team is looking forward to competing in front of our fans, and our away meets promise to be a fantastic test for both our swimming and diving teams. Go Jackets!”
McCauley Aquatic Center will host 14 meets throughout the 2021-22 season including the ACC and NCAA Championships.
2021-22 Highlights:
- Tech starts its season with the White vs. Gold Intrasquad game
- The first home meet is on Oct. 23 against Florida State
- The GT Invite is Nov. 18-20
- The Yellow Jacket Invite runs from Feb. 11-12
- Georgia Tech hosts the ACC Championship and NCAA Championships at McCauley Aquatic Center
- The ACC Championships are from Feb. 15-19
- The NCAA Championships are from March 16-19 for the women and March 23-26 for the men
Jackets’ success in 2020-21
- Batur ÜNLÜ set the all-time Georgia Tech mark in the 200 free and 500 free last season
- Christian Ferraro set the 100 fly and 200 fly record last season
- McKenzie Campbell set the record in the 200 fly and 400 IM
- Camryn Hidalgo set the platform event record. She now holds every women’s diving record in Georgia Tech history
- Tech relay teams set four all-time records. Ferraro, Austin Daniel, Kyle Barone and Justin Alderson set the mark in the 200 free relay. ÜNLÜ, Caio Pumputis, Barone and Ferraro set the mark in the 400 free relay. Barone, Pumputis, Ferraro and Daniel set the mark in the 200 medley relay. Barone, Pumputis, Ferraro and ÜNLÜ set the mark in the 400 medley relay.
- Pumputis, ÜNLÜ, Ferraro, Anna Bradescu and Camryn Hidalgo were NCAA All-Americans
