Alexis Barnes served as an academic advisor with the Georgia Tech Athletic Association staff from June 2022-May 2023. She worked primarily with the football program.
Prior to arriving at Georgia Tech, Barnes served as a learning specialist and tutor coordinator intern for Kansas Athletics. While with the Jayhawks, Barnes worked with the football, softball, and men’s basketball programs. Before her internship, Barnes worked as a strategic tutor and learning assistant for Kansas athletics for two years.
In 2020, Barnes graduated with a bachelor’s degree from the University of Kansas in journalism with a concentration in strategic communications and a minor in sport management. Barnes earned her master’s degree in education with a concentration in sport management at the University of Kansas in 2022. She is currently pursuing a second master’s degree in reading education.
