Kylee Smith joined the Georgia Tech women’s basketball staff as director of creative content and brand manager in August 2022.
Smith arrived on The Flats following a four-year professional basketball career overseas competing in Germany, Australia and Ireland from 2018-22. While overseas, Smith began her career with Weiterstadt Basketball SG (Dec. 2018-March 2019) before joining the Liffey Celtics Basketball Club in Sept. 2019, leading both programs offensively. Smith was a two-time most valuable player in South Australia with the Sturt Basketball Club (April 2019-March 2022). She then reached the highest level of professional basketball with the Adelaide Lightning in South Australia where she was a part of their practice squad in 2021.
In April 2020, she founded her own company, Joyfueled Social, where she helps small businesses grow their brand presence through social media. Smith’s company focuses on creative strategy and development of social media marketing efforts, including full content creation, execution and analysis for clients.
Smith was a three-year letterwinner at Belmont University on the women’s basketball team, helping the Bruins to an 82-19 record in three seasons, three NCAA Tournament appearances, three Ohio Valley Conference championships and the first-ever Belmont women’s basketball national Top 25 ranking. A three-time all-OVC first team selection, Smith also excelled academically, being named to the Belmont Dean’s List eight times and annually was placed on the OVC Commissioner’s Honor Roll. In 2017, Smith was named the OVC Scholar-Athlete of the Year and CoSIDA Academic All-America.
Prior to Belmont, Smith played her freshman year at Vanderbilt appearing in all 31 games and helped the Commodores to the NCAA Tournament. She was tabbed to the SEC First Year Academic Honor Roll in 2013-14.
A native of Alpharetta, Ga., Smith graduated from Belmont University with a bachelor of business administration in 2017. She was a recipient of the Jim McKay NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship to continue her educational endeavors and earned a master’s of sport administration from Belmont University in 2019.
