Justin Recktenwald joined the Georgia Tech Athletic Association for his second stint via The Aspire Group in September of 2019. In his current role as Director, Sales & Service, Recktenwald is charged with leading the New Sales, Service, and Retention team with a focus on tickets sales and fundraising.
Before rejoining the GTAA, Recktenwald served ten months at Kennesaw State University. Originally hired to oversee KSU’s athletic annual fundraising department, Recktenwald quickly obtained the head position for tickets sales and ticket operations. In that time, he was responsible increasing football season tickets sold, season ticket revenue, and donations for the first time in Kennesaw State’s history. In his first stint at Georgia Tech, Recktenwald led the New Sales team in new revenue generated.
Before his relocation to Atlanta, GA, Recktenwald and his family lived in Austin, TX where he launched, owned, and operated multiple transportation companies that helped offset constraints on the public transportation system. Recktenwald first moved to Texas when he accepted the Director of Major Gifts position within Texas State University’s athletic department. He also served as the Director of Development and Tickets Sales at Illinois State University, and Associate Director of Development at the University of Louisville.
A native of Louisville, KY, Recktenwald graduated from the University of Louisville with a degree in Finance, and later obtained his Master of Business Administration from Bellarmine University. He is a former collegiate student-athlete in the sport of soccer. He and his wife, Leticia, currently reside in Marietta with their daughters, Evelyn and Emily, and their dog Mojo.
