Johnathan Spicer joined the Georgia Tech Athletic Association staff in August 2021 as an academic support coordinator for women’s basketball, women’s tennis and women’s softball.

Prior to arriving at Georgia Tech, Spicer served as an assistant academic coordinator at The University of South Florida. While at USF, Spicer worked with the football student-athletes.

Spicer earned his master’s degree in recreation and sport management from Florida International University in 2019. While at FIU, he worked as a student assistant in athletic facilities & operations, assisting in the oversight of athletic facilities. During his second year of graduate school, he interned at The University of Miami from 2019-2020 as an academic services assistant and served as a mentor for various sports team.

In 2018, Spicer graduated with a bachelor’s degree from Florida Agricultural & Mechanical University, in physical, education & fitness. He was a student-athlete on the men’s basketball team. Spicer is a member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Inc. and National Association for Academic Advisors for Athletics (N4A).

Spicer is a native of Miami, Florida.
