Emily Bortz arrived on The Flats in July 2021 as a senior manager of partnership activation with Legends as part Tech’s multi-media rights partnership.
Prior to arriving on The Flats, Bortz spent five years the Major League Soccer organization, Philadelphia Union, as the senior manager of partnership marketing. During her time with the Union, she managed over $3.5 million in partnership revenue and worked on accounts with Subaru, Anheuser-Busch, adidas, Heineken and Toyota. Her work with special projects included the stadium naming rights agreement for Subaru Park and the 2020 MLS is Back Tournament in Orlando, Fla. Additionally, Bortz was responsible for upselling over $100,000 in partnership renewal revenue.
A Mechanicsburg, Pa. native, Bortz graduated from the University of Alabama with a bachelor’s degree in communication and information sciences in 2015. She was a double major student with public relations and marketing. Bortz was also a member of the Delta Gamma Sorority where she held leadership roles such as Vice President, Panhellenic. Her academic accolades include President’s List, Dean’s List, Alpha Lambda Delta Honors Society, PRSSA and the National Society of Collegiate Scholars.
Bortz’s professional experience also includes internships with the minor league baseball team, York Revolution and Fox Sports, helping with the U.S. Women’s Open.
