Derek Alemany joined Georgia Tech athletics in July 2025 as a marketing assistant within the marketing & fan experience department. He will oversee all marketing efforts for Georgia Tech volleyball, while assisting with women’s basketball.
Alemany came to Georgia Tech from the University of Florida, where he served as an athletic marketing intern while completing his master’s degree coursework. While in Gainesville (Jan. 2024-May 2025), he worked with the lacrosse, women’s soccer and softball programs. He also worked a pair of NCAA Tournament events, helping coordinate marketing efforts for the 2024 NCAA Softball Regionals and Super Regionals, and the NCAA Women’s Lacrosse Regionals in 2025, all hosted by the University of Florida.
While an undergrad at West Virginia, Alemany worked in the athletics marketing department for two years as an intern. He worked with several programs, including baseball, women’s basketball, volleyball and wrestling.
Alemany earned a bachelor’s degree in marketing from West Virginia University in 2023 and a master’s degree in sports management from Florida (2025).
