Dan Wypasek joined the Georgia Tech athletics staff as assistant director of facilities, operations and events in August, 2018, and was promoted to associate director in the January of 2019.

A native of Parma, Ohio, Wypasek manages all of Georgia Tech’s basketball facilities – McCamish Pavilion, Zelnak Center and Luck Building, as well as the new ACC Network studio facility and the George C. Wypasek came to Tech from the University of Akron, where he served more than four years in athletic operations and events. He began there as a graduate assistant in athletic facilities and operations, assisting in game management for all varsity sports, before moving into a full-time position as manager of athletic operations and events. In that role, Wypasek served as director of event management for the Zips’ varsity sports and primary game manager for men’s and women’s soccer, men’s basketball and volleyball home events.

Wypasek began his career as an intern in athletic facilities and operations at Akron while working on his master’s degree in public administration, which he completed in 2017. He earned his bachelor’s degree in sports studies at Akron in 2015. During that period of time, he also worked as an athletic facilities and operations camp coordinator in the Cleveland/Akron area.
