Ciara O’Halloran joined the Georgia Tech athletics staff as assistant athletics director for facilities, operations and events in 2023.
O’Halloran came to The Flats after a year-and-a-half at nearby Mercedes-Benz Stadium as manager of major events, serving as the lead contact and liaison during the planning and execution of Atlanta United games and other major events at the stadium. With O’Halloran at the helm, Atlanta United was a 2023 Major League Soccer Operations Club of the Year finalist.
Prior to her arrival in Atlanta, O’Halloran spent the first 10 years of her professional career at Notre Dame, starting as director of men’s soccer operations (2013-16), transitioning to director of sport operations and Olympic facilities (2016-21), then becoming director of engagement and policy operations (2021) before being elevated to assistant A.D. for engagement and policy operations (2021-22).
In her initial role as director of operations for Notre Dame men’s soccer, she managed all administrative, operational and travel activities for the Fighting Irish’s renowned men’s soccer program, including during its 2013 national championship campaign, when the ND staff was also named Staff of the Year by the National Soccer Coaches Association Staff of the Year.
In her subsequent roles at Notre Dame, O’Halloran acted as the athletics department’ liaison to the Atlantic Coast Conference, assisted with the execution of major external events at Notre Dame facilities (including an international soccer friendly between Liverpool and Borussia Dortmund at Notre Dame Stadium and the 2019 US Senior Golf Open at ND’s on-campus golf course) and oversaw the schedule approval process for all varsity sports.
O’Halloran graduated from Saint Mary’s College in Notre Dame, Ind., where she double-majored in environmental science (B.S.) and French (B.A.). As a student at Saint Mary’s, she was a monogram (letter) winner at Notre Dame as a student manager for the Fighting Irish in football (2011 – Champs Sports Bowl participant) and men’s soccer (2012 – Big East champion).
A native of Dublin and Newbridge, Co. Kildare, Ireland, O’Halloran attended and graduated from Atlanta International School, just minutes from Georgia Tech’s campus.
