Ben Anderson, a former blue collar defensive tackle for the Yellow Jackets, begins his second season on the Georgia Tech coaching staff as a graduate assistant.

Anderson works primarily with assistant coach Mike Pelton and the defensive line unit.

Anderson first arrived on the Flats in 2006 after a standout prep career at South Aiken (S.C.) High School. He played two seasons under then-head coach Chan Gailey before emerging as a key member of the defensive line under Paul Johnson in 2008. Anderson was a starter on Tech[apos]s ACC Coastal Division championship team in 2009 before suffering a knee injury in the regular season finale against Georgia. As a senior in 2010, Anderson moved to nose tackle in Tech[apos]s 3-4 scheme and overcame his knee injury to be a key contributor.

After graduating from Tech with a degree in business management in 2010, Anderson attended graduate school at South Carolina and helped coach at his high school alma mater.

Anderson is single and resides in Atlanta.
