Played in 43 games on the season, making 22 starts … Served primarily as Tech’s DH … Had eight multi-hit and five multi-RBI games … Hit .351 on the season with 16 extra base hits and 29 RBI … Tied for fifth on the team in home runs (8) and was seventh in RBI (29) … His .691 slugging percentage was the second best among Jackets … Homered and scored twice in Tech’s 24-3 rout of Maryland (3/7) … Blasted a pinch-hit, three-run home run in the eighth inning to lift Tech to a 10-7 win against the Terps (3/8) which helped Tech to a three-game sweep of Maryland … Went 2-for-5 with a run scored in Tech’s 10-9 comeback win at Virginia Tech (3/20) … Went 3-for-5 with an RBI and two runs scored against Wake Forest (4/18) … Batted .667 (10-for-15) with three doubles and four home runs in the three-game series against Presbyterian (5/1-5/3) … Had a record-breaking series finale against the Blue Hose (5/3), going 6-for-6 with three doubles, three home runs, five runs and nine RBI … Went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run in Tech’s 6-5 win against Florida State (5/10) … Had two hits, two RBI and a stolen base in Tech’s loss to Georgia at Turner Field (5/12) … Had a double and a triple in Tech’s 9-2 win over Florida State in the ACC Championships (5/23) … Went 1-for-3 with a double and a run scored in a 10-7 loss against Southern Miss. during the NCAA Atlanta Regional (5/30).
2008
Played in over half (33) of the Yellow Jackets’ games in 2008, making five starts in left field and three at DH … Went 5-for-16 (.313) as a pinch hitter … Led off the eighth inning with a pinch-hit single and scored the go ahead run to help Georgia Tech to a 5-1 win over Youngstown State (2/24) on opening weekend … Had a two-run single with two outs in the bottom of the ninth inning to send the game against Rutgers (2/29) to extra innings … Belted a pinch-hit home run against Alabama State (3/26) … Had a two-run, pinch-hit single in the bottom of the ninth inning against Coastal Carolina (5/3).
High School
Four-year letterwinner for coach Tony Wolfe at Buford High School … Led Buford to back-to-back State Final Four appearances and a pair of region championships in 2005 and 2006 … A three-time all-county and all-area honoree and named Super Six in 2006 and 2007 by the Gwinnett County Dugout Club … Holds the Buford career records in average (.498), hits, RBI and doubles … Set Buford single-season records with a .534 average, 55 hits and 50 RBI his junior year … Also a four-year letterwinner in basketball and a three-year letterwinner in football … Team captain of the Buford football team his senior year … Earned honorable mention all-area honors in basketball in 2006 … Four year member of the honor roll … Also a member of the French Club, Beta Club and National Honor Society.
