Spears Races at USATF Junior Outdoor Championships

SACRAMENTO, Calif. – Georgia Tech track and field freshman Tyson Spears finished ninth in the 100m at the USATF 2017 Junior Outdoor Championships on Friday afternoon.

Spears posted a time of 10.70 in the first round of the junior men’s 100m to finish ninth. With only eight moving on to the final round this evening, Spears did not advance. Spears was one of three Jackets to compete at the championships. He made it into the field with his career-best time of 10.45 that he turned in at the Tom Jones Memorial.

Freshman Brianna Hayden will race in the junior women’s 200m at 3:42 p.m. PT on Saturday, June 24.
