After a 19-34 record and an 8-16 mark in conference play in 2017, the Jackets return two pitchers from the 2016 team in senior Emily Anderson and sophomore Brooke Barfield. Anderson has lead the Jackets in ERA and win-loss percentage since 2016 and led the team in strikeouts last season with 111. Seniors Kelsey Chisholm and Malea Bell will likely lead the Jackets on offense with Chisholm leading the 2017 team in RBI, home runs and stolen bases.
Opponent Matchups
Tech leads the series with Lipscomb 5-1. The Jackets lead Florida A&M 7-1 with the series dating back to 1991. The two teams haven’t faced off since 2006 in the NCAA Tournament in Tuscaloosa, Ala. The Jackets face Lamar for the first time in program history. Tech and Penn State are knotted at 3-3 and met in the 2016 season as part of the ACC/BIG 10 Challenge. The Nittany Lions walked away with two victories over the Jackets.
