THE FLATS – Georgia Tech B-back Patrick Skov has been named to the 2015 Capital One Academic All-District 5 Football Team, announced Thursday by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
Skov, a native of Guadalajara, Mexico, transferred to Tech this season from Stanford and stepped right in to a starting role. He has rushed for 339 yards and leads the Yellow Jackets with eight total touchdowns (six rushing, two receiving).
Currently pursuing his MBA at Georgia Tech’s Sheller College of Business, Skov posted a 3.47 cumulative GPA as an undergraduate student at Stanford, where he earned his degree in international relations.
Skov was an Academic All-District pick as a senior last year at Stanford.
It is the third year in a row that a Yellow Jacket has earned Academic All-District distinction as Harrison Butker was an honoree last year and Will Jackson in 2013. All time, a total of nine Yellow Jackets have garnered 14 Academic All-District awards.
