Six New Members Inducted into the Georgia Tech Sports Hall of Fame

Sept. 24, 2017

Six former Georgia Tech All-Americans were inducted into the Georgia Tech Sports Hall of Fame on Friday night at the College Football Hall of Fame. The class of 2017 includes men’s tennis star Roger Anderson, Ray Guy Award winner Durant Brooks, golf All-American Roberto Castro, 2004 NCAA Final Four star B.J. Elder, seven-time track and field All-American Ashlee Kidd and two-time baseball All-American Matt Wieters.

More than 350 Georgia Tech faithful, including family and friends of those being inducted, attended the event, which was held for the first time at the College Football Hall of Fame, and heard the six inductees reflect on their experiences on The Flats, the relationships they formed with teammates, coaches and staff, and the fondness that still runs deep today, 10 or more years after they competed at Yellow Jackets

The six inductees also were honored at halftime of Saturday’s 35-17 victory by the football team over Pittsburgh in the Yellow Jackets’ ACC opener.
