A talented, versatile and hard-working offensive lineman who started at least seven games each of his four seasons… played both guard and tackle throughout his career… played in 48 career games with 42 starts… an outstanding student who has earned ACC All-Academic Team honors three times and was CoSIDA Academic All-Region in 2013… made the Dean[apos]s List and the ACC Academic Honor Roll multiple times… served on the Georgia Tech Student-Athlete Advisory Board in 2012-13… graduated in May of 2013 and played his final season as a graduate student in the MBA program.
2013 (senior): Named honorable mention All-ACC by the media… was named CoSIDA Academic All-Region… played and started in all 13 games… started five games at left guard and eight games at left tackle… helped Georgia Tech rank tied for fourth nationally in third-down percentage, sixth in rushing offense and tied for ninth in fewest sacks allowed.
2012 (junior): Played in 10 games and started seven times… missed four games with nagging injuries… showed his versatility by starting two games at left guard and five games at right tackle… was named the ACC Offensive Lineman of the Week on Sept. 17th… was instrumental in Georgia Tech putting up record-breaking numbers, including total rushing yards and total offense yards… the Yellow Jackets ranked fourth nationally in rushing offense.
2011 (sophomore): Started all 13 games at left guard… helped Georgia Tech lead the ACC in rushing offense, total offense, scoring offense, fewest sacks allowed and third-down conversion percentage.
2010 (redshirt freshman): Played in 12 games and started nine times… named first team Freshmen All-America by the Football Writers and Phil Steele… earned second team honors from Rivals… named to the ACC[apos]s All-Academic Team… battled nagging injuries throughout the season… did not play vs. Virginia (Oct. 9) and did not start at Kansas (Sept. 11), vs. Miami (Nov. 13) and vs. Duke (Nov. 20) because of injuries.
2009 (true freshman): Redshirted.
High School: Farragut HS… Scout.com 3-star recruit… the No. 8 guard in the nation (ESPN.com), No. 26 by Scout.com… a finalist for 5A linemen Mr. Football award as a senior… first team 5A all-state in 2008… as a junior, earned first team all-state, all-county, all-region, all-city and All-East Tennessee honors… played in Tennessee[apos]s East-West All-Star Game and served as a team captain… coached by Eddie Courtney, earning four letters… led Farragut to a regional championship in 2007.
Personal: Chose Georgia Tech because of the education, the relationship with the coaches and players, the potential to play early and the ability to compete for championships… son of Steve and Janet Jackson… full name is William Patrick Jackson.. born Aug. 13, 1990 in Athens, Ga… a left-hander… has two siblings, Thomas and Sarah… began playing football in the seventh grade… made the ACC academic honor roll in 2011-12… made the Dean[apos]s List in the fall of 2012… majoring in management.
