As A Junior In 2012-13: Established career-best times in both his marquee events — the 100 breast and 200 breast… Finished 13th in the 200 breast at the ACC Championship, setting a new career best and clocking the seventh-fastest time in school history of 2:00.01… Put down a 55.09 at the ACCs to record the sixth-best time in Tech history and set another career record… Swam the 400 medley relay with Andrew Kosic, Eric Chiu and Nico van Duijn at the NCAA Championship and the relay was clocked in 3:13.51, which was good for 26th… Represented the United States at the 19th World Maccabiah Games in the summer of 2013.

As A Sophomore In 2011-12: Competed at the 2012 United State Olympic Team Trials in the 100 breast… Set four career-best times, with three coming at the ACC Championship… Finished 10th in the 100 breast with a time of 55.51, after putting down a career best 55.37 in the prelims… That time of 55.37 stands seventh on Tech[apos]s all-time list… Claimed a 13th-place finish in the 200 breast with a career-best time of 2:01.13, which also ranks seventh all-time at Tech… Also posted a career-best 50 free time of 20.71 at the ACC Championship, which was good for 36th place… Was second in the 100 breast (56.96) in an ACC meet versus Florida State and NC State… Took third in the 100 breast (57.72) versus Virginia Tech.

As A Freshman In 2010-11: Set career best times in the 100 breast, 200 breast and 200 IM at the ACC Championships … Took home second place in the C-Final in the 100 breast with a time of 56.27 as well as the 200 breast in 2:02.54 … Finished with a time of 1:54.08 in the 200 IM … Earned a personal-best in the 50 free at the Georgia Tech Fall Invitational with a time of 22.41.

High School: A four-year letterwinner under the direction of Brennan Lemieux … Earned All-American honors in the 100 breast and the 200 IM at the 2010 GHSA Championships … Earned Second Team All-State Honors and was the MVP of the Benedictine Swim Team in his senior season … Graduated as the Valedictorian of his high school earning high honors each year … Member of the National Honor Society from sophomore year on … Treasurer of the National Honor Society in his senior year.

Personal: Born Ryan Alex Salmon on August 28, 1992 in Johannesburg, South Africa … Parents are Richard and Nadine Salmon … Has a younger sister Mandy … Has also lived in Cambridge, England and Toronto, Canada … Lists Bill Forrestor, his club coach, as one of the biggest influences in his life … Enjoys mud wrestling and skeet shooting in his free time … Plans to major in Civil Engineering.
