As A Junior In 2013-14: Selected as one of four team captains for the 2013-14 season… Entered the Jackets[apos] all-time top-10 lists in both the 100 fly and 200 fly during the season… Posted her career-best in the 100 fly at the ACC Championship in a time of 55.50, which was good for 27th… Her career-best 200 fly of 2:03.17 — Tech[apos]s fastest of the season — came at the Georgia Tech Invitational where she finished seventh overall… Swam on Tech[apos]s 200 and 400 medley relays at the ACC Championship that both finished 10th… That 400 medley relay ranks as the fifth-fastest in Tech history at 4:44.82.

As A Sophomore In 2012-13: Was part of two relays that scored points at the ACC Championship and recorded top-10 times on the Georgia Tech career records list… Swam butterfly on the 200 medley relay with Carly Sweeney, Catherine Richards and Erika Staskevicius that finished seventh at the ACC Championship and set the second-fastest time in school history of 1:42.08… Also swam fly on the 400 medley relay with Sweeney, Richards and Kate Riley that was clocked in 3:45.29 and finished eighth at the ACC meet… Was Tech[apos]s fastest 100 fly swimmer, putting down a career-best 55.83 at the ACC Championship… She also charted career-bests in the 200 fly (2:05.30), 50 free (24.95) and 100 free (55.51) at ACCs… She won both the 100 fly and 200 fly in the season-opening victory over the College of Charleston and also won the 100 fly versus Emory.

As A Freshman In 2011-12: Recorded a season-best time of 25.10 in the 50 free at the ACC Championships… Set two other season bests at the Georgia Tech Invitational — 56.62 in the 100 fly, which was good for 13th place, and 2:05.31 in the 200 fly, which was good for 22nd… Finished seventh in the 100 back versus North Carolina in a season best time of 1:01.66.

High School: A four year letter winner for Theresa Lee at Milton High School … An All-American in the 100 fly during her junior and senior seasons … Team MVP during her junior season … Swam a short course national cut time in the 100 fly from her sophomore to her senior year … Scholastic All-American sophomore, junior and senior year … Holds the school record in the 100 fly and 100 back, both set at the Georgia Tech Aquatic Center … An honor roll student all four years of high school … Member of the Science National Honor Society.

Personal: Born Katherine Elizabeth Brandus on March 5, 1993 in Atlanta, Ga. … Parents are Mark and Lynn Brandus … Sister to Chris and Grace … her uncle Bryan Carter played football at NC State … Chose to come to Tech because of the great school, fun and welcoming team and great swim program … Started swimming at the age of seven … Plans to major in Public Policy.
