2016 (Redshirt Senior): Named first-team all-ACC by ESPN.com … tabbed third-team all-ACC by league’s coaches and media … voted ACC Offensive Lineman of the Week following Georgia Tech’s 38-7 romp over Vanderbilt (Sept. 17) … started 12 games at center … had a streak of 35-consecutive starts snapped when he missed the Virginia Tech game (Nov. 12) due to injury … was the anchor and leader of an offensive front that paved the way for Georgia Tech to rank ninth nationally in rushing offense (258.1 ypg) and 17th nationally in fewest sacks allowed (1.23 pg) … took eight defenders to the ground while helping the Jackets rush for 289 yards and amass 511 yards of total offense in the 38-7 rout over Vandy … sustained a lower-leg injury in TaxSlayer Bowl win over Kentucky.

Personal: Full name is Freddie Hamilton Burden … Born July 8, 1994 … Son of the late Willie Burden and Velma Burden … Has one brother, Willie Jr. … Father, Willie, was running back at NC State in mid-1970s and played in CFL for Calgary Stampeders … Was CFL Most Outstanding Player in 1975 … “Tech is one of the best combinations of college football and education you can get,” Burden said … Graduated in May 2016 with a bachelor’s degree in business administration.
