Remole Named ACC Baseball Player of the Week

May 17, 2004

ATLANTA – Georgia Tech’s Clifton Remole was selected as the Atlantic Coast Conference Player of the Week.

Remole hit .600 (9-for-15) this past week to lead the Yellow Jackets to a perfect 4-0 record against No. 20 Clemson and No. 15 Georgia. In Tuesday’s contest against Georgia, the junior outfielder went 3-for-4 with a pair of RBIs in Tech’s 12-5 win at Turner Field. Against Clemson, Remole continued his hot hitting going 6-for-11 with a double in leading the Yellow Jackets to the three-game sweep. The Marietta, Ga. native collected at least one RBI in each of the three games against the Tigers including two in the final game of the series.

Remole helped Tech extend its winning streak to 13 games, the longest such streak in the nation. The Yellow Jackets have won a school-record 13 straight ACC games.

Tech hosts Georgia State on Tuesday in the Jackets’ final regular season home game before closing out the regular season at Maryland this weekend. The Yellow Jackets can clinch first place in the ACC regular season standings with three wins over the Terrapins, and one win will lock up a second place finish.
