ATLANTA – Cross country standout Kyle Rabbitt and Kacie Anson, a women’s tennis player, were named the Wendy’s Georgia Tech Student-Athletes of the Week for Monday, November 3, 2003.
Rabbitt, a junior from Tyrone, Ga., led all Georgia Tech runners as he finished 11th in the Atlantic Coast Conference Championships, which were held on Saturday morning in Winston-Salem, NC. He led the team to a sixth-place finish as he was the only Yellow Jacket to finish in the top-25, and he has now finished in the top-15 in each of the three races that he’s competed in this season. His eight-kilometer time of 24:42.1 was his top time in 2003.
Anson, a sophomore from Fayetteville, Ga., led Georgia Tech at the Southern Intercollegiate Championships as she placed third in her singles and second in her doubles draw. She won a total of four matches on the weekend, two in singles and two in doubles with teammate Alison Silverio. Anson concluded fall play with a 3-1 record in singles play while going 2-1 in doubles.
