ATLANTA – The eighth-ranked Georgia Tech women’s tennis team will be back in action this weekend at the Bill Moore Tennis Center when it hosts No. 6 Miami (11-2) and No. 17 Florida State (7-2).
The Yellow Jackets (5-4, 0-1 ACC) and the Hurricanes will square off Saturday at 12 noon before Tech meets Florida State at 12 noon Sunday to conclude the weekend.
Georgia Tech has fared well against the Miami Hurricanes as of late. Tech has won eight straight meetings and has not lost to Miami since March 25, 1999. Last season, the Jackets defeated a then No. 11-ranked Miami team, 6-1, on the road.
The Jackets, who defeated the Seminoles 4-3 in Tallahassee, Fla., last season, have won five straight and six of their last seven matches against Florida State.
In their first 11 matches, including this weekend, the Yellow Jackets will have faced 10 teams ranked in the nation’s top 25.
Tech will conclude its four-match homestand next Saturday when it hosts No. 3 Notre Dame at 1 p.m. The Jackets have scheduled this match as their “Ace for the Cure” and will raise money through pledges and donations for the Atlanta Chapter of the Susan G. Komen Foundation.
