No. 3 Women's Tennis Hosts Denver Saturday

Feb. 24, 2007

ATLANTA – Georgia Tech’s third-ranked women’s tennis team will square off against the Denver Pioneers this Saturday at 12 noon at the Bill Moore Tennis Center. The first 100 fans to enter the gates at the Bill Moore Tennis Center will receive free chicken sandwiches, compliments of Chick-fil-A.

The Yellow Jackets are coming off a tough loss at Vanderbilt Thursday afternoon, and enter the match with a 7-2 record in 2007. Denver is meeting the Jackets in the first of two matches in their east-coast swing, and will play Georgia State tomorrow.

The Jackets and Pioneers will be meeting for the first time in history.

Thursday afternoon, junior Kristi Miller and freshman Amanda McDowell led the Jackets against the Commodores, but Tech couldn’t overcome the early 3-0 lead that Vandy took after earning the doubles point.

Following the match Saturday, the Jackets will head to Athens, where they meet arch-rival Georgia Wednesday at 2:30 p.m.

Live stats for Saturday’s match will be available at www.ramblinwreck.com.
