THE FLATS – Recognizing their achievements in the classroom for the 2022-23 academic year, the Atlantic Coast Conference honored 217 Georgia Tech student-athletes with inclusion in its annual Academic Honor Roll as announced by the league office on Friday.
Eighty-five of the Yellow Jackets made the list for the third time or more in their careers, which 36 of those making the grade the fourth or fifth time. Two Yellow Jackets received the honor for the fifth time in track and field’s Liz Galarza, football’s Cade Long.
Track and field led the way for the Jackets with 67 student-athletes on the honor roll, including 12 who earned the honor for the fourth or fifth time. Swimming and diving added 44 honorees, while baseball having 25 and football 21. As a percentage of student-athletes on the roster, the golf team led the way with nine of 11 members of the team on the list, while volleyball, softball and baseball also had more than 60 percent of their student-athletes honored.
The ACC Academic Honor Roll is comprised of student-athletes who participated in a varsity-level sport and registered a grade point average of 3.0 or better for the full academic year. The conference recognized a record 5,942 student-athletes for 2022-23. View the complete list here.
