THE FLATS – Coming off a successful fall campaign, Georgia Tech women’s tennis will begin the 2023 slate ranked No. 25 in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association preseason rankings released on Wednesday.
Historically a strong women’s tennis conference, the Atlantic Coast Conference boasts six teams in the top 25: North Carolina (2), NC State (3), Duke (6), Virginia (7), Miami (11) and Georgia Tech (25).
Competing in five fall tournaments, the Yellow Jackets compiled 41 singles and 21 doubles wins this fall. Highlighting the fall slate were the ITA Southeast Regionals that saw Carol Lee and Kate Sharabura capture the doubles title, sealing an automatic berth into the ITA National Fall Championships. Lee also made a run to the singles championship of regionals, solidifying a spot in fall finale tournament in San Diego, Calif. at ITA National Fall Championships. On the singles side of the fall championships, Lee reached the semifinals.
