Experienced Thaddeus Young (6’8”-F-1988, graduated ‘2007, plays pro in the NBA) could not help the Toronto Raptors (7-7) in their last game. Despite his very good performance the Toronto Raptors (7-7) lost 104-118 on the road to the Indiana Pacers. Young scored 15 points and grabbed 5 rebounds in 35 minutes. But this is still an early stage of the season and everything may happen. It’s Young’s first year with the team. This season he averages 3.4ppg, 2.7rpg and 1.2apg in 11 games he played so far.
Jose Alvarado (6’0”-PG-1998, graduated ‘2021, plays in the NBA) led New Orleans Pelicans to a victory against the Houston Rockets (2-11) 119-106 in the NBA on Saturday night. Alvarado scored 12 points, made 5 passes and 3 steals. The New Orleans Pelicans have 7-6 record this season. But the season just started, so everything may happen. It’s Alvarado’s first year with the team. He has relatively good stats this season 7.7ppg, 2.0rpg and 2.8apg.
Adam Smith (6’1”-PG-1992, graduated ‘2016, currently in Spain) was not able to help Bilbao in their game against Tenerife (1-6) in the Spanish Liga Endesa. Smith recorded 6 points in 28 minutes. Bilbao was badly defeated73-57 on the opponent’s court by the much lower-ranked (#16) Tenerife. But the season is still in its first stage and everything can happen. Smith has relatively good stats this year 10.4ppg, 2.6rpg, 2.4apg and 1.1spg in seven games.
James Banks III (6’10”-F/C-1998, graduated ‘2020, plays pro in the NBA G League) was not able to secure a victory for the Texas Legends (2-1) in their last game on Saturday. Despite Banks III’s very good performance the Texas Legends (#6) were defeated 127-122 in Austin by the Spurs. He scored 16 points, grabbed 8 rebounds and made 4 blocks. But the season is still in its first stage and everything can happen. It’s Banks III’s first year with the team. Banks III has relatively good stats this season 12.0ppg, 9.0rpg, 1.7apg and 3.7bpg.
Ben Lammers (6’10”-C-1995, graduated ‘2018, plays in Germany) couldn’t help ALBA Berlin (3-4) in their game against Bayern Muenchen (2-5) in the Euroleague. He recorded only 4 points in 11 minutes. ALBA Berlin was edged79-77 in Munich by the lower-ranked (#15) Bayern Muenchen. It was ALBA Berlin’s fourth consecutive loss in a row. But the season is still in its first stage and everything can happen. This year Lammers averages 5.2ppg in five games.
Josh Okogie (6’4”-G-1998, graduated ‘2018, currently in the NBA) managed to help Phoenix Suns to win against the Portland Trail Blazers crushing them 102-82 in the NBA in Saturday night’s game. Okogie scored only 4 points. This season Okogie averages 1.1ppg and 1.2rpg. He is a naturalized Nigerian.
Charles Mitchell (6’8”-F/C-1993, graduated ‘2016, plays pro in Argentina) led Obera to a victory over the league outsider Comunicaciones 78-66 in the Argentinian La Liga last Sunday. He was MVP of the game. Mitchell recorded 17 points and grabbed 7 rebounds in 20 minutes. Mitchell has relatively good stats this year 13.7ppg and 9.0rpg in six games.
Robert Sampson (6’8”-F-1992, graduated ‘2015, plays in Japan) was the major contributor in a Tokyo HT’s victory against the 12th-ranked Veertien Mie 84-73 in the Japanese B3 League on Saturday night. He recorded a double-double by scoring 21 points and getting 14 rebounds. Sampson also added 5 assists. Sampson has relatively good stats this season 12.0ppg, 11.3rpg, 2.7apg, 1.3bpg and 1.7spg. Sampson is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market.
Gani Lawal (6’9”-F/C-1988, graduated ‘2010, currently in Russia) couldn’t help Runa Basket in their game against Uralmash in the Russian Superleague 1 (second division). Lawal recorded 6 points, 12 rebounds and 2 blocks in 20 minutes. His team was edged 79-76. This year Lawal averages 9.8ppg and 9.0rpg in six games. He is a naturalized Nigerian.
Michael Devoe (6’5”-G-1999, graduated ‘2022, plays pro in the NBA G League) contributed to an Ontario Clippers’ victory against the South Bay Lakers 112-105 in the NBA G League last Saturday. He scored 6 points. This season Devoe averages 3.0ppg and 4.0rpg.
