THE FLATS – Georgia Tech swimming and diving competed in day three of the ACC Swimming and Diving Championships hosted at McAuley Aquatic Center on Thursday. The men’s team is currently fifth and the women’s team is currently tenth.
McKenzie Campbell improved her own 400 IM program record by 0.79 seconds during the finals of the event. Campbell led after the fly portion of the IM by 0.53 seconds. She would eventually be caught during the backstroke, trailing the leader by 3.07 seconds. Campbell would climb back to being 0.66 seconds behind the leader after the breaststroke as they headed into the 100 free portion of the IM. With her opponent in her sights, Campbell made up 1.08 seconds in the final 50 free to claim the victory in her final and the new program record.
