THE FLATS – Georgia Tech women’s basketball moved up one spot in the latest Associated Press national poll released on Monday, moving to No. 11.
The Yellow Jackets opened a four-game road swing last week collecting a pair of wins at Clemson and Duke to improve to 18-4 overall and 9-2 in Atlantic Coast Conference play. Five Yellow Jackets averaged double-figures during the two game games last week, led by Lorela Cubaj at 13.5 points per game. Cubaj leads the ACC in rebounding, and ranks 14th nationally, averaging 11.5 rebounds per game.
Tech continues to lead the ACC in scoring defense, holding its opponents to an average of 47.1 points per game. The Jackets also top the league in field goal percentage defense and rebound margin, while ranking second in three-point field goal percentage defense.
The Jackets return to the hardwood tonight at No. 5 NC State. Tip is slated for 6 p.m. on ESPN2 inside Reynolds Coliseum in NC State’s annual Play4Kay game.
