GREENSBORO, N.C. – Georgia Tech volleyball’s Julia Bergmann and Matti McKissock were each selected to the 2020 All-ACC Academic Volleyball Team, the Atlantic Coast Conference announced on Thursday.
The announcement marks Bergmann’s second such honor in as many years and McKissock’s first selection to the team.
Each student-athlete named to the All-ACC Academic Volleyball Team has maintained a career GPA of 3.0 or higher and posted a 3.0 GPA or higher in the most recent semester. Along with each honoree’s academic achievements, Bergmann (physics major) and McKissock (business administration major) were also honored for their athletic prowess as each of the team’s members were tabbed at least All-Region Honorable Mentions, All-ACC, received an ACC Player or Freshman of the Week honor or ranked in the top five in the league in an individual stat category.
Bergmann and McKissock both had strong hands in propelling the Jackets to the Second Round of the NCAA Tournament in 2020. Bergmann earned recognition for her efforts as an AVCA Division I Honorable Mention All-America selection after being unanimously selected to the All-ACC First Team and All-AVCA East Coast All-Region team. McKissock also garnered ACC and AVCA recognition as she was named All-ACC Second Team and AVCA East Coast All-Region Honorable Mention despite missing time and playing through injury.
