Ten Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets have won the Georgia Amateur Championship over the history of the event, which began in 1916 with the legendary Bobby Jones winning the first. Luke Schniederjans won the most recent championship played in 2020.

Bobby Jones, of Atlanta, scored a grand slam in golf today, when he defeated Eugene Homans, of Englewood, N.J., in the final of the United States Amateur golf championship on the links of the Merion Cricket Club, outside of Philadelphia. Jones completed his triumph by a score of 8 and 7. This is the first time in the history of the ancient game of golf, that any one player has won the major classics of the links in a single year. The victories scored by Jones, earlier this year, were the British Amateur, and the U.S. Open. In addition to the other records set by Jones, his victory today makes him the first man to win the American Amateur five times.
