THE FLATS – As the baseball regular season begins to wind down and teams are trying to make a late push for the playoffs, a number of former Yellow Jackets are playing well down the stretch highlighted by Charlie Blackmon who was named the National League Player of the Week on Monday, Aug. 14.

Earning his second NL Player of the Week honor this year and fourth overall for his career, Blackmon has been on fire as of late for the Rockies. Over his last seven games he is hitting .452 going 14-for-31 overall. He has seven home runs, eight RBIs and 14 runs scored during that span.
