Oct. 7, 2004

Pacific Palisades, Calif. – Kristi Miller will conclude her run at the Riviera/ITA All-American Championships Friday morning with a match against No. 88 Victoria Domina of Eastern Michigan after recording a pair of straight-set victories in the quarter- and semifinals of the consolation bracket in the qualifying round Thursday.

The freshman from Marysville, Mich. began the day with a 6-3, 6-3 victory over Clemson’s 50th-ranked Daniela Alvarez, and then downed Duke’s 69th-ranked Jennifer Zika, 6-2, 6-1, in the afternoon session.

With the two victories on the day, Miller improves to 14-1 in her two tournaments this fall and also stands at 9-1 in doubles action with teammate Alison Silverio. She was the winner of both the singles and doubles titles in the Yellow Jackets’ first tournament of the season, the Baylor Invitational.

Following her match Friday morning, Miller will return to her teammates in Atlanta to prepare for the upcoming ITA Regionals in Tuscaloosa, Ala., which will begin during the last week of October.
