Metivier Posts All-American Finish in 5000 meters at NCAA Championships

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Sophomore Renee Metivier earned All-America honors Friday, as she placed ninth in the 5000 meters at the 2002 NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships at the University of Arkansas’ Randal Tyson Track Center.

She posted a time of 16:35.27 and will also compete Saturday in the 3000 meters. The 2001 NCAA runner-up in cross country, Metivier earns All-America honors for the first time in track with this finish.

Sophomore Brendon Mahoney clocked a time of 4:02.50 in the mile, which placed eighth in the prelims. He will compete in Saturday’s final.

Senior Sara Pardue was 17th in the 800 meters, posting a time of 2:08.90.
