THE FLATS — The Georgia Tech men’s tennis team will play their final two regular season matches this weekend with they travel to face No. 27 Notre Dame on Friday at the Eck Tennis Pavilion and Boston College on Sunday afternoon at the Flynn Recreation Complex.
The Jackets enter the weekend boasting a 10-9 record, winning both of their matches last week against then-No. 21 NC State and Louisville.
For the season, Carlos Divar has been reliable for the Jackets posting an overall singles record of 12-7 including victories over No. 22 Alexis Garaneaue of NC State and No. 115 Christopher Morin-Kougoucheff of Louisville to garner ACC Co-Player of the Week.
In doubles, Phillip Gresk has been partnered with Divar most of the year as the two were awarded as the ACC Doubles Team of the Week for their play last weekend. The duo defeated No. 47 Galarneau/Michael Ogden, 7-6 (7) of NC State and No. 90 Morin-Kougoucheff/Fabien Salle of Louisville, 6-1.
The Irish enter Friday’s match hosting both St. Bonaventure and the Jackets. Notre Dame has won two of their last five matches with wins over Toledo and North Carolina Central.
Boston College, meanwhile, has won one of their last three matches with a win over Holy Cross. Overall the Eagles have a 6-14 record going 0-11 in conference play thus far.
