THE FLATS – Georgia Tech men’s tennis heads to its first collegiate tournament of the fall season when the Yellow Jackets travel to Athens, Ga., for the Southern Intercollegiate Championship. The two-day tournament begins Friday, Sept. 29 and continues through Sunday, Oct. 1. Tech athletes will compete in singles and doubles play during the tournament.
Doubles play will feature the pairing of junior Gabriele Brancatelli (Florence, Italy) with freshman Richard Biaigotti (Lunderskov, Denmark), who will be competing in his debut collegiate tournament. Freshmen Krish Arora (San Jose, California) and Owen DeMuth (Bloomfield, Michigan) also look to make their collegiate debuts and will compete in doubles matches alongside sophomore, Robert Bauer (Suwanee, Georgia) and junior Rohan Sachdev (Cart, North Carolina). Sophomore Elias Shorky (Marietta, Georgia) will also compete in singles matches along with the rest of the Yellow Jackets.
This three-day tournament includes the following teams: UNC-Wilmington, Vanderbilt, Georgia State, Mercer, University of Georgia, Charlotte, Clemson, and Jacksonville State. The tournament bracket is divided into three compass draws of 16 (red, black, and grey), with the silver draw including some byes. For live stats and more information click here.
