THE FLATS – Featuring six tournaments, the Georgia Tech men’s tennis fall schedule was announced on Thursday. The Yellow Jackets will open its tournament slate the first week of October and conclude with a pair of tournaments in early November, including the GT Fall Invitational.
Four Yellow Jackets will represent Georgia Tech at the ITA All-American Championships in Tulsa, Okla., Oct. 2-10. Marcus McDaniel and Andres Martin received main draw selections in both singles and doubles. Main draw action begins Wednesday, Oct. 6. Teammates Keshav Chopra and Chen Dong will compete for singles and doubles positions in the prequalifying rounds, which take place Oct. 2-3.
The Bulldawg Championships run from Oct. 8-10 and are held in Athens, Ga. The October slate is concluded with the Commodore Invitational in Nashville, Tenn. from Oct. 15-17 and the ITA Regional Championships from Oct. 21-24 in Gainesville, Fla.
The fall schedule culminates with two events running Nov. 5-7. Tech will host the annual GT Fall Invitational, while select individuals will compete in the ITA Fall Nationals. The GT Fall Invitational is the first time fans will be able to see the Yellow Jackets at the Ken Byers Tennis Complex. The ITA Fall Nationals are being held in San Diego, Calif.
The White and Gold had two players receive rankings in the ITA preseason rankings. McDaniel and Martin were ranked No. 26 and No. 31, respectively, in the ITA Singles Preseason Rankings. The duo was also ranked No. 8 in the ITA Doubles Preseason Rankings after earning an at-large berth to the 2021 NCAA Doubles Championship last season.
