McCamish Pavilion Court Unveiled for 2022-23
Georgia Tech’s men’s and women’s basketball teams will practice and play on a brand new floor for the 2022-23 season, which will be the 11th in the friendly confines for both teams. The Yellow Jackets have unveiled their new paint scheme as they prepare for the upcoming home season, which begins on Nov. 7 for the men and Nov. 10 for the women. The court is named for the legendary Tech coach Bobby Cremins, who led the Jackets’ men’s team for 19 seasons, winning three ACC titles and appearing in 10 NCAA Tournaments.
McCamish Pavilion’s previous floor, which was installed in 2018 and repainted in 2019, had to be replaced unexpectedly due to water damage in the building this summer. Due to the short turnaround to order and install a new floor, there was not enough time before the 2022-23 basketball seasons to procure the Tech Gold paint that is normally included in the McCamish Pavilion floor design, which is not a stock color and only available through a lengthy, custom-production process. Therefore, for the 2022-23 seasons only, the floor will only include Tech’s White and Navy colors. Tech Gold paint will be added to the design next offseason.
