Massey Wins Hammer Throw at Spec Towns Invitational

ATHENS, Ga. – Senior Eric Massey won the men’s hammer throw with a personal-record and NCAA Region qualifying mark of 199 feet, 3 inches, to lead the Georgia Tech men’s and women’s track and field teams at the Spec Towns Invitational on Friday.

Freshman Kimery Hern finished sixth in the women’s hammer throw with a season-best mark of 167 feet, 4 inches. Freshman Alana Clooten finished eighth for the Jackets with a mark of 163 feet, 8 inches.

Freshman Charles Rohling tallied an eighth-place finish for Tech in the men’s hammer throw with a mark of 157 feet, 10 inches.

Day two of the Spec Towns Invitational will take place all day on Saturday at Spec Towns Track.
