LEXINGTON, Ky. – Senior Eric Massey improved his school record in the men’s weight throw with a first-place mark of 62 feet, 2 ¼ inches, to lead the Georgia Tech men’s and women’s track and field teams at the Rod McCravy Memorial, hosted by the University of Kentucky, on Friday night.
Senior Brandy Depland tallied a first-place finish in the women’s triple jump with a NCAA Provisional mark of 42 feet, 8 ¾ inches, to lead the women.
Sophomore Jerome Miller won the men’s high jump with a clear of 6 feet, 11 ½ inches, while freshman Juan Cave finished third with a mark of 6 feet, 7 ½ inches.
Freshman Nigel Orr tallied a second-place finish for the Yellow Jackets in the men’s triple jump with a mark of 47 feet, 7 ¾ inches. Senior Kira Barcus finished third in the women’s pole vault with a mark of 10 feet, 6 inches.
Freshman Alana Clooten finished 10th in the women’s weight throw with a toss of 44 feet, 11 ½ inches.
